As an Intern at the Humanities Research Center (HRC) at Rice University, Alexandra Rousset contributes to the center's operations, event coordination, and social media engagement.
Alexandra is pursuing a Double Major in Art History and Philosophy with a Minor in Museums and Cultural Heritage at Rice University, as well as a certificate in Italian. Her interests span curatorial practice, preservation, and the intersection of art history and the philosophy of beauty and aesthetics.
Prior to joining Rice, Alexandra studied Philosophy, Literature, and English Literature and Culture at Lycée Louis-Pasteur in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France. She has gained extensive experience across leading cultural institutions, including the Louvre's Department of Egyptian Antiquities (2023), the Centre Pompidou (2023), the Museum of Decorative Arts (2022), and the leading auction house Artcurial in Paris (2023). She also participated in the Yale Young Global Scholars program and the New York Times Summer Program, and is currently working as a Jameson fellow at the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens for the academic year, before joining Peggy Guggenheim’s collection in Venice as an international fellow for the summer of 2026. Alexandra is fluent in French, Russian, English, and Italian.
