The Rice Critical Humanities Collective was founded in Fall 2025 by and for Rice University undergraduates to analyze, question, and discuss the sociopolitical issues shaping our present.
A Humanities Research Center-sponsored project, the Collective is open to anyone interested in rethinking culture, technology, power, and society in ways that challenge conventional understandings of these concepts. That means considering everything from post-truth politics to global warming, identity in an algorithmic society, migration and borders, the future of activism, and the future of work (and much more).
Meetings are held at the HRC Conference Room (Lovett Hall, Entrance C, Room 304) on select Wednesdays in Spring 2026. All years and majors welcome. Check out their Instagram feed (@ricecrithumacollective) for specific meeting dates.
