In March 2003, the fourth lecture in the Technology, Cognition, and Cul- ture series was delivered by Edward Ayers, the Dean of the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Hugh P. Kelly Professor of History at the University of Virginia, and who was appointed in 2000 by President Clinton to the National Council on the Humanities.
