The fourth Neil J. O’Brien Triennial Symposium in Medieval Studies at Rice University 
The symposium focused on the creation of distinct urban identities of four European and Eastern Mediter- ranean cities in the late Middle Ages through an examination of the physical fabric, urban spaces and human activity.
