Seminar & Programming
Seminar
The Public Humanities Graduate Internship Program includes a one-credit seminar designed to provide a structured space for graduate student interns to reflect on their experiences, develop their professional narratives, and engage with peers. Weekly one-hour meetings will feature guided discussions, self-reflection exercises, and professional development activities.
This course should allow international graduate students to apply for CPT authorization for the summer internship. For more information, please contact the Office of International Students and Scholars or visit https://oiss.rice.edu/cpt.
Programming
Applicants are encouraged to attend a resume and cover letter workshop to prepare their materials. While the workshop is open to ALL Humanities PhDs, it is a especially helpful for internship applicants.
We want to have the opportunity to strongly encourage Humanities PhD students to submit a resume rather than a CV, and the workshop will help you translate your academic experience into a skillset that is legible to non-PhDs.
