Diluvial Houston Initiative | Predoctoral Fellows

In collaboration with the Center for Environmental Studies, the Humanities Research Center’s Diluvial Houston Initiative invites 4th to 7th year graduate students in the School of Humanities to submit applications for year-long $10,000 predoctoral fellowships, three of which will be awarded per year. Duties may include singly or in combination any of the following: 1) teaching associated with the ENST minor; 2) editing, writing, and public-facing endeavors associated with Diluvial Houston and Correspondences websites and the Planet Now! webinar series; 3) outreach and arts projects, including the Solar Studios.

Eligibility: All graduate students in the School of Humanities who will be between their 4th and 7th year of study in 2021-22 and who will be in residence in Houston during the fellowship period. Students must have a research record in aspects of environmental studies.

  • Letter of interest including a description of the dissertation research project in environmental studies as well as particular interests in teaching, editing and public writing, and outreach.
