Public Lecture: The Language of Kindness "In conversation with writer Christie Watson"
Monday, October 7, 2019
The Health Museum
Christie Watson spent twenty years as a nurse, and in her book, The Language of Kindness, she takes her readers inside the hospital to learn its secrets and meet some of her most memorable patients. Watson’s book is a necessary addition to the long tradition of doctor writing, and she demonstrates the vital role of nurses’ expertise, care, and compassion. We are all past, present, or future patients, and we will all rely on the support of nurses, yet their profession has not received adequate attention in medicine and writing.
This program is free and open to the public.
