Rice Design Alliance's Civic Forum 2020: A House of One's Own, A State of Houston Housing

An online roundtable discussion that addresses the urgent need for quality affordable housing in our city.
The speakers, a group of practitioners, city officials, researchers, and housing activists, will engage in conversation about the value and need for skilled architectural design in the development of affordable housing models. The Civic Forum Q&A will be run by Jack Murphy, Editor, RDA, with opening respondent questions from Kyle Shelton, Deputy Director, Kinder Institute for Urban Research.
Forum will include Mary Lawler, Executive Director, Avenue CDC; Tom McCasland, Director, Housing and Community Development Department, City of Houston; Lori Pampilo Harris, Housing Policy Consultant; Assata Richards, Founding Director, Sankofa Research Institute, Adjunct Professor, University of Houston Sociology Department; David Robinson, FAIA, At-Large Position 2, Council Member, City of Houston; and Jesús Vassalo, Associate Professor Rice Architecture.
