The HRC’s levantCarta Initiative invites graduate students from Rice University and University of Houston to participate in a think tank that addresses geospatial topics related to the Levant region broadly construed. More about the initiative can be read here. The eventual cohort of students will meet on a biweekly basis to present ongoing research projects, identify visiting speakers, and consult on the initiative. Each fellow will receive a $5,000 award for participating in the 2019-20 academic year.
Six graduate students, ideally three from Rice and three from UH, will be selected. Applications are welcome from Rice and UH doctoral students from any range of humanities departments/disciplines.
